Yin Yang Moon Mandala

Which phase of the moon is most important?
Which shifting takes longer than the others?
— Deng Ming-Dao in The Lunar Tao

This creative process explores the significance of the Yin/Yang symbol as it relates to the moon and the principles of structure and flow in our lives.

You may adapt and use this mandala practice with your groups and clients.

All forms are contained within your own being.

The Tao gives birth to One. One gives birth to yin and yang. Yin and yang give birth to all things... The complete whole is the complete whole. So also is any part the complete whole... But forget about understanding and harmonizing and making all things one. The universe is already a harmonious oneness; just realize it.
— Laozi

  • What is my highest expression of Yin? Of Yang?

  • How does Yin want to be expressed through me? Yang?

  • What is blocking the flow of Yin in my life? Of Yang?

  • Using the inquiry questions, consider pulling two oracle cards: one for Father Sky (yang) and Mother Earth (yin).

  • Write words from the oracle cards you pulled or your inquiry in corresponding space of yin and yang on your mandala
